Election Day & The Spuds

As everyone from the UK (or in general anyone who has not been sat in a cave disconnected from global media) knows, its election day tomorrow (or today I should say, writing in the wee hours of Thursday, May 6th). Today the UK electorate will shape what happens to this country for the next 4-5 years. And as far as I am concerned, if the country gets this wrong, what is happening in Greece right now could be happening in a town centre near you not too far off in the future. We all have a choice.....

2009 - A Year In Review

As we are entering the last day of 2009, it's made me think about everything that's happened this year. 2008 for various reasons was a bit of a crappy year, but looking back on 2009, 2009 has been the best year of my whole life. Here's a brief rundown of what made 2009 so damn cool. 10. Christmas I'm very much a Christmassy person and do love the festive season (not to be confused with the festival season, more on that later) unlike some of my friends who bear something of a resemblance to....

A rather strange week

It is highly ironic that my last post was something of a lament on it being "funny how life turns out", truer words were rarely spoken, though I did not know it at the time. Last Monday (23rd of November) I arrived at the office as per usual, however stepping out of the lift things were definitely not "usual". The lights were off, desks were dismantled in the hall, whiteboards were off the wall and that was just the start. After entering the main part of the office, I got a bit of a large shock.....

A personal reflection

Life is a very strange thing. I think we are all aware of this, but it strikes me sometimes just how lucky (or unlucky) we can be based on a single event or a few minutes. 5 years ago (5 years ago Wednesday just gone, the 18th of November 2004 to be exact), I was in the Students Union nightclub, aka "The Dome" on campus at Greenwich Uni. As I headed to the bathroom to relieve myself, a rather short, very good looking girl was coming the other way out of the loo and waved to me in passing. I had ....

Playing Catch Up

I did wonder if after getting married life would slow down. Nearly 7 months on from the best day of my life and nothing could be further from the truth, life seems to have picked up the pace even more. There always seems to be a very long list of things I mean to get around to doing, but never quite get to them. As my friends will attest to, I have 3 years worth of video camera footage from the Download Festival sat on my external hard-drive, or mostly on Mini-DVs, not even having had the time ....

20p = 50 pounds?

If anyone out there is looking to make a fast buck (or quid), go and check any change jars or piles you may have, you could be sitting on a fortune! 20p worth fifty pounds. Update: More on this from the bbc.....

Britains Got Talent...Yes Really

After getting quite hooked on the tv show this year, both myself and Jayne were quite interested to catch the live tour of Britain's Got Talent, so we managed to snag tickets for the Wembley Arena show on the 21st (of June). The tickets said the doors were 6.30, what they neglected to mention was that the show would start at 6.30, the doors seemingly having opened some considerable time prior to that, we got in literally as it was about to start. Ant & Dec don't do the live tours so it was le....

Stag Do

Before it gets too far from my memory (not that I'd ever forget it properly) I wanted to recap on my stag do before any of the little details fall out of my brain what with the wedding approaching like a bullet train to keep me occupied. I had the most awesome time with the guys, so if any of you are reading, THANK YOU, IT WAS BRILLIANT! I have discovered a few things about myself over the course of the stag do. One of those would be that I definitely suck at go-karting, I only develope....

Introduction

I have needed an online space to put my random bits of news and thoughts for a long time. Something to go alongside my myriad of ongoing bigger online projects, and I never get round to making "the personal blog type thing". Well I managed to knock this up in just over an hour with the help of the nice people at Freecsstemplates.org. At the moment its just static html, I will make it a proper site, but at least it is off the ground. Let the random musings begin! Oh, one last thing. Yes, I did t....
