Metal Journalist?

I have been slightly slacking in updates recently for a few reasons. I've been very busy at work recently and that hasn't left me much time for updates. I have nearly cleared my live review backlog, just got to finish off the review of the Lostprophets show from last month.

I've also had a new venture to focus my creative writing energies towards: Through the incredibly useful twitter I recently became friends with Neil, the owner of Rocksins.com, a rock and metal news site. He saw this site and suggested I write pieces for rocksins, so I have been.

My first piece for them was to review the very awesome Paradise Lost, Katatonia and Engel gig from the Carling Academy Islington a couple of weeks ago where for the first time in my life I was on the guest list courtesy of rocksins in exchange for the review, which was very cool. I then got to review one of the best metal albums of the last 2 years, Conclusion of an Age by the fantastic Sylosis. The best was however yet to come as I got to write a set of questions for an interview with Pelican's bassist Bryan Herweg, which promptly got returned to us 4 days later. He even answered a rather cheeky question (which Matt suggested) about smoking questionable substances. I am very much enjoying my work for rocksins, but I am certainly not going to give up My Sweet Shadow. I enjoy this site too much. It also helps me to keep my hand in non-drupal development, something which is personally very important to me (as much as I enjoy Drupal, there's more to PHP than drupal).

If you are interested in my rocksins writings, please find the links below. I will do a recap of rocksins postings on here every now and again.
