About Me

I am 24 years old, I am from Hertfordshire, I live in Kent, and I work in London, one might say a person of the circle of the M25. I am celebrating my first wedding anniversary in under 2 weeks. Getting married was the best day of my life, and I thoroughly recommend getting married to anyone who thinks they've found the right person for them. Best decision of my life so far! I promise I will soon have all the photos and details up on the wedding section (A year and counting but I will do it!).

I work in Covent Garden as a web developer for WikiJob. WikiJob is the UK's second largest website for students and University graduates, just behind Milkround who we hope to overtake sometime this year. Before starting at WikiJob in December 2009 I spent nearly 2 years working at i&i Members, working on the Improvement and Innovation.com public website and the private members community.

Development

In addition to my web developer role for WikiJob, I have my hand in a number of other web projects. They involve a variety of things, including PHP Development (OO and normal) - with and without Drupal (v5 and v6), XHTML, CSS, JQuery/Ajax and my latest "hobby" - Search Engine Optimisation. During the last year I have got into SEO in quite a big way and am learning a lot about the field. I am happy to share my findings with anyone who wants to know, you just have to ask :). I may even write up some of my search engine optimisation findings in a blog post or in a technical section on this site if they would be of use to people.

Music

I'm quite obsessive about my music. I can always be found with my headphone (just one, both would be rude :P) in at work when I'm not talking to people or in meetings. I've lost count of the number of bands I've seen live, though not nearly as many as Matt. My favourite band are Metallica, and a selection of my other favourites would be Trivium, Kamelot, Machine Head, In Flames, Dream Theater, Devildriver, Def Leppard, Megadeth, Sylosis, Opeth, Judas Priest, and also some more contemporary stuff like Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie and the works of John Williams and Howard Shore. For my full eclectic tastes, please check out my last.fm page from the sidebar menu.

My metal obsession has also led me into journalism, albeit amateur journalism, as I am now one of the feature writers for Rocksins.com. Working with the awesome guys at rocksins has opened many doors for me into the metal world, and I look forward to continuing to write for and work with them during 2010.

Thats enough about me, you now know enough to strike up a conversation if you happen to ever meet me and don't already know me! If you wish to get in contact, use the contact section on the site. I look forward to hearing from you.
